When writing sucks
December 1, 2008
Writing sucks when it sticks to the back of the head like stale jello and won’t come out even after a good shaking. Recently, I’ve found many of my writing starting to act up and refuse to flow as naturally as it does when I blog or freewrite. It’s weird, really, because it just started to happen to me this year. My writing has never felt so constipated in my entire friggin life. I thought I am honing my writing skills by blogging daily (or try to, at least), but even practice doesn’t seem to make the process perfect. I have to admit I haven’t been reading books as often, but that should theoretically be counteracted by the newspaper reading I do. So what exactly could be the problem? Do I not have enough substance? Do I not know what I want to say? What is causing this headache!?!?
